The Medallion of a Longshore

Description

I created this by adapting an olympic medal tutorial in photoshop, which explains why it is mainly circular shaped. The text on it is in Lovecraft's Diary font and simply spells Kahlin's name. For some reason im having trouble with the second "strut", it keeps giving me a weird effect. I couldnt figure out how to get rid of it so i left it :O_o:

Also, the shape isnt quite correct :sigh: ah well, i still like it ^^; (its SHINY :D)

You've probably all heard that small things can often bring surprises. Well ... this little geejaw is definately no exception.

It was designed to look like any other piece of jewelry that is often worn by the Rac-cona Daimh, the idea was that if Kahlin was stripped of his more overt mystical items, like his sword and staff, or if he was simply caught unawares he would still have an ace up his sleave.

The amulet, specifically the gemstone, is a high-density lux storage device, containing much more in the way of stored lux power than an item of its size should be able to. It comprises half of the reserve power that Kahlin carries. In effect, draining the entire medallion in one go would be the same as plugging oneself into a ley line. For those who dont know what that means, picture plugging yourself in to an electrical mains of magic power ^^. The downside to this is that that would give Kahlin a major lux-hangover the next day, incapacitating him completely until he recovered.

In more practical terms, the Amulet contains only one spell; a barrier sheild that can protect Kahlin and those around him from physical and magical attacks. He can also use smaller portions of the amulet's power to refresh his personal reserves and to give some of his powers more punch.
